What is the difference between a freight forwarder and a licensed customs broker like ALC?
Unlike a freight forwarder that often subcontracts customs work, All Low Cost Transit (ALC) holds its own licensed customs broker accreditation (CAD No. 010508), obtained in 2017. We can legally sign, validate and file customs declarations directly in CAMCIS. You deal with authorised experts — no middleman and no hidden fees.
How do you avoid demurrage and delays at Douala or Kribi Port?
Demurrage usually comes from document delays or CAMCIS rejections. We verify every file before the vessel arrives, anticipate regulatory constraints (such as PECAE / ANOR) and maintain a daily on-the-ground presence with Customs to unlock issues immediately.
How long does an ALC customs clearance quote take?
We provide a clear, itemised quote within 24 business hours of receiving your file (pro forma invoice and specifications). Pricing includes a transparent breakdown of port-passage costs, duties and taxes — no cash-flow surprises.
Do you operate only in Cameroon or across the CEMAC zone?
Our head office is in Douala (Carrefour Idéal, Akwa), with direct access to Douala and Kribi ports. Our expertise covers the whole CEMAC zone. We organise secure carriage and transit to inland countries (Chad, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea).
How do you handle PECAE formalities and ANOR certificates of conformity?
The Pre-Export Conformity Assessment Programme (PECAE) is mandatory for many goods (food, construction materials, electrical equipment, etc.). We advise you upstream on the right verification route (A, B or C) to avoid blocked containers on arrival, 15% penalties or exploding storage fees.
What transport modes and cargo types do you handle?
We cover a wide range of logistics solutions:

- Road haulage nationwide and across CEMAC.
- Specialised sectors: industry & construction, agribusiness, perishables (reefer) and retail distribution.
Should I prefer FOB or CIF Incoterms for imports into Cameroon?
To keep control of logistics costs, we strongly recommend FOB (Free On Board). CIF often hides unexpected local charges and can complicate demurrage with the shipping line. CIMA rules also require local cargo insurance in Cameroon. With FOB, ALC Transit helps you choose the carrier and insurance — protecting your margins.
How does Customs calculate cargo value in CAMCIS?
Cameroon Customs does not rely only on the purchase price, but on CIF value (Cost, Insurance, Freight): purchase price, carriage to Douala or Kribi, and insurance. Mis-valuation or under-invoicing can trigger a customs dispute. We validate this value upstream so duties and taxes are assessed fairly, without litigation.
What if Customs challenges the value on my invoice?
Value uplifts are common during unannounced checks. We defend your interests. If Customs considers the invoice undervalued, we build a solid file with payment evidence and technical specs to justify the transaction and avoid unfair penalties.
I do not have enough cargo for a full container. Do you offer alternatives?
Yes. If volume is too small for a full container (FCL), we arrange ocean or air consolidation (LCL). Your goods share space with other shippers — lower cost, with the same tracking through to deconsolidation.
How am I kept informed during customs clearance?
You are not just a file number. You have a dedicated contact, reachable by phone or WhatsApp, who updates you in real time — from CAMCIS declaration registration to truck positioning for final delivery.
Can you move cargo through to N’Djamena or Bangui?
Yes. Douala Port is the natural gateway for landlocked CEMAC countries. We handle international in-bond transit formalities and coordinate secure road haulage to Chad (N’Djamena, Moundou) or the Central African Republic (Bangui).
Who has the final say between the SGS certificate and Customs on duties and taxes?
Cameroon Customs Administration has sovereign authority over the final assessment of duties.
- SGS issues a Verification Certificate (AV) with technical findings (conformity, HS classification, estimated CIF value) — essential working papers for the declaration.
- Customs may accept, adjust or challenge SGS conclusions in CAMCIS, including a value uplift or tariff reclassification.
ALC Transit view: the SGS certificate is a reference, but only the Customs assessment notice (BAL) sets the official amount payable to the Treasury. If there is a disagreement, we intervene as licensed broker with your transaction evidence to defend the true value.
